Welcome to Year 2!
We hope you enjoyed the break and are rested and ready to learn.
We have a very exciting half term ahead with our production, cultural week and Christmas. Our performances will be at 9.15am on Wednesday 3rd December and at 2pm on Thursday 4th December. Ticket details will be sent shortly.
In DT this term, we are designing and making 3D winter scenes. Please send in a shoe box for your child to use for their project. Many thanks.
PE Days

Please ensure all earrings are removed and hair is tied up.
Homework
Homework will be sent out on Thursday and is due back on Tuesday.
Maths homework will be completed on Doodle Maths, login details will be sent home in book bags. English will be detailed on the weekly overview and is to be completed in the homework book. Spellings will be sent home weekly, tests will be in class on Friday morning.
Times Table Challenge
Every half term we will focus on a new times table. We will practise this in class and would encourage it at home also. This term we will focus on the 2 times table. Towards the end of the term, we will have a mixed order test and those who achieve full marks will receive a certificate.
Daily Reading
To promote the importance of daily reading, children in Year 2 can earn reading certificates which they will receive in assembly. They can progress from Bronze for 25 reads, Silver for 50, Gold for 100, Platinum for 200, right through to Diamond for 300 reads. Only one read is counted per day, unless they also read with a school adult. Please remember to sign your child's reading record to ensure they achieve their goal.
